PowerProtect Series generators install just 18 inches from your home, taking up less space and fitting into your landscape. The Briggs & Stratton 40677 includes Dual 200 Amp/Split 400 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch for installation on a 300 Amp or 400 Amp split service with two panels. Add the Amplify power management system (see below) for whole house power management.

The 20kW Briggs and Stratton Generator has the longest, most comprehensive warranty of any air-cooled standby. A 6-Year* Limited Warranty covers parts, labor, and travel for the entire 6-year term. Made in the USA with commercial-grade Vanguard engines that lead the industry with rugged and reliable operation. 20kW Briggs and Stratton Generator

The 20kW Briggs and Stratton Generator restores power to your home during utility outages. Standby Generators are Automatic. They start in any weather (including hurricanes), day or night. Whether you’re at home, away on vacation, or sleeping in your bed, the 20kW generator senses a power outage. Within seconds, the generator starts and signals the automatic transfer switch. The ATS switches from utility to generator power. A compatible power management system allows you to prioritize the most important heavy loads.

Where temperatures fall below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, install Briggs and Stratton Cold Weather Accessories. Cold weather accessories like battery warmers, oil warmers, and regulator warmers allow easier starts in temperatures below freezing. A warm battery produces more power than a cold battery for starting. Warm oil lubricates better which prolongs engine life and makes it easier to start. Fuel Regulator warmers prevent icing that could prevent the regulator from adjusting the fuel pressure.

Power Management

The New Briggs and Stratton Generator and Automatic Transfer Switch systems include an Amplify 200-Amp Service Rated Transfer Switch and Amplify Gateway Module.

With Amplify power management, the homeowner can control up to 32 prioritized appliances via the Standby Generator Management App. The Amplify system requires the Gateway, Dual Low Voltage Modules, and High Voltage Modules. Low voltage modules manage appliances with controls like a thermostat—Air Conditioners, Furnaces, and Heat Pumps. High voltage appliances like electric ranges, water heaters, and electric dryers use the high voltage modules.

The Standby Generator Management App allows the homeowner to change system priorities as needed. For example, the electric range might receive a higher priority over the electric dryer while cooking dinner.

Standby Generator installations require the use of a Carbon Monoxide Detector inside the home to guard against CO Poisoning.

This Briggs & Stratton 20kW Standby Generator is NOT rated for Prime Power Applications.

Battery Not included—12 Volt, Group BCI 26 or 51, 540 Cold Cranking Amps
